Five seafarers find themselves stranded on the shores of Øland, an island located somewhere between reality and fiction. As they attempt to recreate the world from memory they stumble between past and present, unfolding visions of a future in a shimmering post-decadent landscape.

Marble Crowd is an informal ensemble of artists based in Reykjavík. Their first production as a collective, Moving mountains in three essays premiered in 2017 and was nominated as the production of the year in Europe by Tanz Magazine. Øland premiered at the National Theatre of Iceland in January 2020 to great acclaim. It was nominated for Icelandic Performing Arts Awards in 11 categories and won in the categories Stage Choreography of the Year, Best Original Music Score and Costume Design. The group consists of Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, Kristinn Guðmundsson, Saga Sigurðardóttir, Sigurður Arent Jónsson and Védís Kjartansdóttir.
