Introduction
In connection with the spring performances of Matching Steps, Carl Knif Company offers a workshop that provides an opportunity to explore the world of the piece.
The workshop is led by Carl Knif, Artistic Director of Carl Knif Company and choreographer of Matching Steps. During the workshop, participants will be introduced to the methods used in the creation process of the work. Through improvisational exercises and given material, participants will approach the physical world of the piece from multiple perspectives.
The workshop is based on the method Breath – Gaze – Space, developed by Knif together with the company’s dancers. The aim of the exercises is to enhance sensitivity, mutual listening, and an open, present awareness of space.
The workshop is open to everyone, and no prior experience is required.
