Tanssin talo provides a high-quality setting with state-of-the-art technology for dance and performing arts. The house has two unique stages for performances, a restaurant, basement premises, a rehearsal studio and an interlinking lobby.
The auditoriums in both halls are retractable, which adds versatility to the spaces. Additional mobile auditorium elements can also be used in both halls, which allow different types of auditorium forms in addition to the traditional rising auditorium. The wall-to-wall length of Erkko Hall is more than 25 meters and the height is up to 11 meters. An additional sprung floor can also be used on top of the black plywood floor.
The hanging possibilities of the Erkko hall are designed to withstand even heavy staging elements, which can be moved quickly. High-speed telecommunications connections even allow live television productions to be broadcast from the house. The lighting in the Erkko hall is entirely LED technology, as is all the other lighting in the house.
The renovated Pannuhalli is equipped with new technology as well. A 12 x 10 m spung floor can be built on top of the original concrete floor, depending on the production's needs. The artists' facilities have an artist's foyer and changing rooms with showers. The back spaces also have a direct connection to the Studio, completed in 2020, located on the 3rd floor of Cable Factory.
The lobby of the house is a multi-purpose and connecting space where you can enjoy company and refreshments between a performance. The lobby also provides access to the i restaurant and the atmospheric Cellar, through which guests leave their coats in the cloakroom.
The main entrance to the house opens onto a covered courtyard called the Glass yard, which connects Tanssin talo, museums and the Cable Factory entrance to Merikaapelihalli.
