NEWSDance House Helsinki will take part in the first-ever ODDfest this June - expect dance, club vibes and unexpected encounters.
As part of the festival programme, Dance House Helsinki presents three distinct dance works that create new spaces for encounters and visibility for dance. The featured artists explore themes of chance, connection and the liberating spirit of club culture.

Jaatinen & Makkonen – What Are The Odds?

A contemporary dance performance about the theme of random encounter and how to connect even when you might be lost in translation. This duet performance from Helsinki based dance artists Mia Jaatinen and Mikko Makkonen invites the spectator to wonder about versatile movement language in an intense atmosphere supported by beautiful sound design of Josu Mämmi.Choreography and performance:Mia Jaatinen, Mikko Makkonen

DJ Wekesa and Jamaican dancers Prince Black Eagle & Pops Xqlusiv perform a tribute to dancehall culture, a place and a style known for its intense energy, forward looking philosophy and freedom.
Clubbing 101 w/ Sophia Wekesa

A 20-minute dance session where we journey with guided free movement towards the euphoria of clubbing. Clubbing 101 is an immersive dance experience designed to reconnect you with the pure joy of movement. The session highlights some of the core elements of club dances—connection, exchange, and the dramaturgy of a club night.
The new ODDfest blends festival and conference in a bold mash-up of art, business and society, transforming Helsinki’s Lasipalatsi block into a creative meeting ground on 6–7 June 2025.
