Dance House Helsinki has been awarded the EcoCompass environmental management certificate. By committing to the EcoCompass programme, we identify the environmental impacts of our operations and continuously develop them towards greater sustainability.
We are committed to the key areas of impact defined in our environmental programme:
Waste sorting
We are developing the recycling practices at Dance House Helsinki by designing efficient and clearly marked recycling points. We provide guidance to our rental clients and staff to ensure successful waste sorting. We aim to improve the efficiency of material use and recycling.
Procurement processes
We recognise the environmental responsibility and criteria of our subcontractors and take these into account in procurement decisions. We prioritise certified products, particularly in the purchase of chemicals, office supplies and foodstuffs for Dance House Helsinki.
Communication
We raise environmental awareness among our staff through internal communication. We also communicate our environmentally conscious culture to visitors and audiences — for example, by encouraging the use of public transport.
