Vielä uudempi kipparikvartetti
The stage features two pairs of brothers – Petri and Jouni Bäckström, and Roope and Riku Pelo – who bring new life to the legendary 1950s group Kipparikvartetti.
Conceptualised by Jouni Bäckström, the dramatized concert combines music and comedy, following the story of the new Kippareet continuing the legacy of their famous predecessors. The original quartet consisted of Kauko Käyhkö, Auvo Nuotio, Olavi Virta and Teijo Joutsela, and the evening’s programme includes both their well-known hits and new, contemporary interpretations.
The idea of reviving Kipparikvartetti has been a long-time dream of opera singer Petri Bäckström. Like the original members, both pairs of brothers have broad experience in different fields of music and performing arts. The group’s members have decades of experience in classical and popular music, as well as in comedy, choral conducting, arranging, composing, acting and dance.

Kake – Tiellä tähtiin
Kake – Tiellä tähtiin premiered at Savoy Theatre ten years ago. Matti Paloniemi’s choreography tells the story of a band called Kake, captivated by the world of Finnish popular music. The group’s dreams are big, but internal conflicts, differing ambitions and unfulfilled hopes create tension on their shared journey. The performers are Reetta-Kaisa Iles, Tuomas Juntunen, Salla Korja, Jarno Tastula and Janne Teivainen.
Kake – Tiellä tähtiin is an intriguing blend of dance, theatre and music. The performance features Finnish schlager and tango classics in reinterpreted versions. In this energetic, parodic yet genuinely touching piece, all performers dance, sing and play instruments.
